Travel & stay

What’s the closest airport?

The nearest airport is William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), which is about 30 minutes from the venue without traffic. You can also fly in to George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), which is about 50 minutes from the venue without traffic.

Where do you recommend staying?

We recommend staying in Sugar Land for easy access to the tea ceremony and the reception venue. If you are only going to the reception, you may want to stay in the city in West University Place.

What about transportation?

Houston is a car-centric city, so we recommend Ubering to be safe, or a car rental but please be safe, avoid drinking and driving, and note that Houston drivers are very aggressive!

What’s there to do in Houston?

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo runs from March 2 to March 22, 2026, at NRG Park - it’s the largest rodeo in the world and we highly recommend checking it out! There are carnival rides, food, livestock, art, and concerts. We recommend getting some concert tickets (even nosebleeds work! you can see the lineup on their website) just to see the rodeo itself. Pro tip: the traffic can make even rideshares a pain - you can avoid it by taking the METRO Rail (Red Line) and take it directly to the Stadium Park/Astrodone station near NRG, or by driving to a downtown light rail station (eg, Main & Preston or the med center at TMC garage 1) to park and take the light rail in. Houston is also home to some of the best food in the US. Our favorite neighborhoods are the Heights, Montrose, Upper Kirby/River Oaks for food and drinks. Bellaire has the best Asian food for breakfast/lunch!

What if I can’t attend?

We’ll miss you, but we completely understand. Please RSVP that you "will not be attending" so we can celebrate with you in spirit.

What should I do if I want to give a gift?

Your presence is truly the greatest gift! If you’d like to gift something, Vietnamese wedding tradition involves gifting lucky money in a red envelope (though any card or envelope is perfectly fine). Please make sure to include your name so we know who to thank. We so appreciate you honoring this custom with us.

How can I stay updated?

Check back here on our website — we’ll post any updates (like weather plans or shuttle times).
