How we met
Our story began unexpectedly in New York City during the winter of 2019, where Evan was living at the time. Madalyn was visiting for a residency interview, and they instantly connected at a bagel shop, earning Evan his nickname in Madalyn's circles (Baegels). Madalyn returned home, confident she wouldn't match in New York, but fate had other plans.
Our Journey
Soon after we met, we found ourselves on the West Coast for a memorable second date: a four-day road trip up the California coast. Luckily Madalyn did in fact match in New York, and after a crazy pandemic filled year in the city, residency took her to Oregon, and Evan packed up to join her. We embraced a new pace of life, trading cityscapes for the great outdoors with our beloved Husky (Kovu), and discovered a shared love for camping and exploring nature. Madalyn even learned to snowboard, making winter weekends on Mt. Hood a cherished tradition.
The Proposal
Evan proposed to Madalyn on a boat in Hawaii during the summer of 2024, marking the start of a trip around the world to celebrate the engagement and the end of Madalyn's residency. He managed to surprise her completely, crafting an elaborate story that kept her from ever suspecting a thing.
The Next Chapter
Recently, we've embarked on our latest adventure, moving to Austin, TX, to be closer to Madalyn's family. We're excited for all that's to come and can't wait to see what new memories we'll create as we continue our journey together.
